A freezing winters evening ,a time to be snuggled up to a bottle of something good from Scotland or Tennesse in front of a roaring fire, and where was I ? Forfilling a promise ,to go and see a bunch of guys who have visited me quite a few times in the studio of ThalsFm to play live a few tracks of thier new cd.This was their night so I should be and I was , There. In an overfull hall behind a cafe in Herenthout was the place to be. The band Amuse was going through their playlist like me through a Duvel, with lots of good noise and thumping soul. The band has added a new member since I had last seen them,a lady drummer. Now the guys are out numbered,Girl singer ,girl backing singer ,girl sax player and now girl drummer and the guys playing away and smiling all the time.Amuse being friends of Bruised, Phillippe was the drummer in another life and time, had offered to open as front act for Bruised and were warmly welcomed by the crowded Hall. After a rousing set Amuse handed over to what to me sounded in the begining synth intro to be the start of an electro-pop band but it was a track from their new cd entitled Electric Lady, and I thought that Gary Neuman was back. After the intro the rest of the guys clambered on to the stage and after a few bits of tech problems--feedback,got into it .The New EP ,Breaking the sound barrier carries six tracks all playable by the guys, and of course everybody has their favourites, mine being Lazy Daisy and one that was half acoustic which I hope to steal for my playlist if the guys will allow it.Bruised, Good sound ,original own numbers, all good musicians and really nice guys. They have been invited back to the Nightride show,so watch this space, and all the best to Bruised, don't take my word go see them for your self.
